Mik Cox has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. From 2011 to 2011, they worked at SkyRun Vacation Rentals / Keystone, where they focused on software design and development. In 2012, they joined the University of Colorado Boulder as the LASP Extended Metadata Repository Project Lead, responsible for implementing the VIVO semantic web application. From 2013 to 2013, they worked as a Software Intern at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they designed and built a Python-based software tool for automation. In 2015, they returned to the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Data Scientist and Head of Internet of Things, leading the IoT team and spearheading the "Smart Campus" initiative. Most recently, they held the role of Chief Technology Officer and Director of IoT Platform and Sensor Engineering at both Ubiety Technologies, Inc. and HomeAware since 2019.
Mik Cox obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, completing the program from 2011 to 2015.
