Ashley Johnston has diverse work experience in the service industry. Ashley started their career as a Server at Feast Dining in 2017, where they worked until 2019. In 2020, they joined JOEY Restaurant Group as a Server for eight months before transitioning to Aritzia as a Style Advisor for a brief period. In 2021, Ashley worked as a Concierge Associate at Aritzia before moving to Migraine Canada in 2022, where they served as a Program Coordinator until December. In 2021, they also worked as a Server at LOCAL Public Eatery. Currently, Ashley is employed at Enso Connect as a Client Success Specialist starting in April 2023.

Ashley Johnston's education history starts in 2015 when they attended Queen's University. Ashley obtained a bachelor's degree in Applied Economics from Queen's University, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. During their time at Queen's University, they also pursued an Honours degree in Applied Economics. In 2020, Ashley enrolled at Humber College and completed an Ontario Graduate Certificate in Event Management in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Ashley has obtained two additional certifications. In November 2020, they completed the "Rock Your LinkedIn Profile" certification from LinkedIn. In May 2017, Ashley received the "Serving It Right" certification from Responsible Service BC.
