Tom Blaisdell

Tom Blaisdell has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Tom currently works as a Principal Scientist at Entact Bio, starting in March 2023. Prior to that, they held roles at Cedilla Therapeutics, where they worked as a Senior Scientist II from July 2022 to December 2022 and as a Senior Scientist from April 2021 to July 2022. At Akebia Therapeutics, they served as a Senior Scientist from March 2020 to April 2021 and as a Scientist II from January 2018 to March 2020. Tom also worked at Enanta Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Scientist from December 2017 to January 2018 and as a Scientist from July 2015 to December 2017.

Before entering the industry, Tom pursued their graduate studies at Boston College, where they spent three years working in the lab of Kian Tan and focused on the use of scaffolding catalysis in organic reactions. Tom then spent the final two years of their PhD in the lab of Jim Morken, where they developed a novel diboration reaction. Tom also had internship experiences at Infinity Pharmaceuticals and Novartis in 2010. Early in their career, they worked as a Formulation Intern at VivoPath from January 2009 to May 2010, where they assessed compounds for in vivo testing and conducted analytical testing using LCMS.

Tom Blaisdell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 2006 to 2010. Tom then pursued their PhD in Organic Chemistry at Boston College from 2010 to 2015.
