Derek Neo has extensive work experience in the biomedical and healthcare sector. Derek started their career in 2012 as a Consultant in Risk Management at Baker Tilly International. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Consultant at The Economist Intelligence Unit (The EIU), specializing in market intelligence and research for medical technology companies in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2016, Derek joined SEEDS Capital as a Deputy General Manager, overseeing biomedical and agfood sectors. In the same year, they also became a Board Observer at Histoindex Pte. Ltd. In 2017, Derek took on a Board Observer role at AWAK Technologies, a company developing a wearable peritoneal dialysis device. In 2019, they became a Board Observer at Hummingbird Bioscience. Derek joined Enterprise Singapore in 2016, initially as an Investment Manager and later progressing to Senior Investment Manager. In 2020, they assumed the role of Investment Team Lead, focusing on healthcare and biomedical investments. Derek also became a Board Observer at PedraTech, a company developing deep-tissue perfusion monitors. In 2020, Derek also took on a Board Observer role at ABM Respiratory Care, a company specializing in integrated airway clearance and ventilator solutions.
