Heila-Marié Botha

Heila-Marié Botha has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Heila-Marié is currently working at Entersekt as a Cloud Software Engineer Team Lead, a role they have held since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Cloud Software Engineer at Entersekt from April 2020 to February 2022. Heila-Marié also worked as a Team Lead at Entersekt from December 2018 to April 2020, and as a Software Engineer from January 2018 to December 2018.

Heila-Marié has also been involved in research and development during their time at Stellenbosch University and NASA Ames. At Stellenbosch University, they pursued a PhD in Computer Science from March 2012 to November 2017, focusing on developing a tool to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of dynamic analysis tools for Android applications. Heila-Marié published eight internationally peer-reviewed papers during this period and presented six of them at workshops and symposiums.

Additionally, they worked as a Research Intern at the Robust Software Engineering group at NASA Ames, Mountain View, California, in July to September 2014. Here, they evaluated tools for automatically generating environment models and extended the static analysis tool OCSEGen for Android applications.

Heila-Marié started their professional journey as a Student Developer at Google Summer of Code in May to August 2012.

Heila-Marié Botha completed their Matric degree at Framesby High School from 2002 to 2007. Heila-Marié went on to pursue a BSc in Computer Science at Stellenbosch University from 2008 to 2010. Later, they obtained their BSc Honours in Computer Science from Stellenbosch University in 2011-2012.
