Hayat Sehki

Hayat Sehki is an accomplished professional in the field of plant sciences with extensive experience in research and startup development. Currently serving as the CTO and Co-founder of Thalya since May 2024, and as a Founder in Residence at Entrepreneur First since March 2024, Hayat is focused on cultivating innovative ideas for new ventures. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher role at UvA from October 2021 to January 2024, collaborating with leading vegetable seed companies to explore natural resistance to Black Rot in Arabidopsis thaliana. Previous positions include postdoctoral research scientist at INRAE, doctoral studies focusing on RNA interference in plant development, and roles in plant breeding and research internships across various organizations. Hayat holds a PhD in Plant Sciences from Paris-Sud University and a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences and Life Sciences, respectively.
