Matthew Maland

Associate Director of Regulated Products at EntroGen

Matthew Maland has worked in the scientific field since 2008. Matthew began as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at California State University, Long Beach in 2008. In 2010, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Student Researcher at UCLA, where they also served as a Radiation Safety Officer and was part of the UCLA Business of Science Venture Team. In 2016, they joined EntroGen, Inc. as an Associate Director of Regulated Products, where they developed strategic plans for IVD product validation, submission and approval. Matthew also managed a team of validation scientists who conducted clinical and non-clinical validation studies for qPCR and NGS diagnostic assays, including data analysis and review, completing documentation for regulatory filings in compliance with global regulatory agencies. Additionally, they served as Scientist II and Scientist I.

Matthew Maland obtained their Associate's Degree in Biological and Physical Sciences from College of the Canyons between 2005 and 2007. Matthew then obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Chemistry from California State University, Long Beach between 2008 and 2010. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of California, Los Angeles between 2010 and 2016.
