Tapan Jyoti Mukhopadhyay

Tapan has almost three decades’ experience working on hydropower and water infrastructure projects in India, Nepal, Nigeria, Bhutan, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Samoa.

He specialises in all aspects of geotechnical engineering and geology, with an extensive knowledge of geology modelling software. His skills are used in a broad range of project areas, including geotechnical investigations, development of geological models, design and specification of rock engineering solutions, construction supervision, dam foundation treatment, geotechnical instrumentation and more.

Tapan graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Geology) in 1985. He went on to do his Master of Science in Applied Geology, and later completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Geology from IIT, Kharagpur. He is a member of the Indian Society of Engineering Geology and the International Society of Rock Mechanics.
