Efi Kontou

Efi Kontou is a Computational Biologist at Enveda Biosciences, with previous experience as a Treasurer and Board Member at REBBLS. Efi served as research staff and PostDoc at DTU Biosustain, focusing on the metabolomics of specialized metabolites, including the metabolic profiles of Actinomycetes, and contributed to antibiotic discovery through chemical analysis and purification of bioactive compounds. Efi's academic background includes a Master's degree in Biotechnology from DTU and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, with research projects encompassing polyketides in Aspergillus nidulans and the optimization of enzyme combinations for cellulose biodegradation. Additionally, Efi completed an internship at NCSR "DEMOKRITOS," specializing in the expression and purification of proteases.
