Andrew Howell

Andrew Howell is a seasoned professional in sustainable finance and equity research, currently serving as the Head of Research, Sustainable Finance at the Environmental Defense Fund since March 2021, where the focus is on accelerating climate action in high carbon intensity sectors. Prior to this role, Andrew was the Head of Research for Corporates at the Emerging Markets Investors Alliance from December 2019 to March 2021 and has a substantial background at Citi from January 2002 to December 2019, where responsibilities included leading frontier markets equity research and serving as Chief strategist for consumer staples and agriculture stocks across Africa, the Middle East, and frontier Europe. Andrew’s earlier experience spans roles at Plantagenet Capital Management and Deloitte & Touche, alongside academic credentials including an MBA from INSEAD and a BA in Russian literature from the University of Pennsylvania.
