Lauren Showalter

Lauren Showalter is an experienced project manager currently leading initiatives at Axiom Data Science since February 2020. Prior to this role, Lauren served as a program officer for the Gulf Research Program at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine from July 2016 to February 2020. Lauren's extensive background in managing scientific research projects includes a position as program manager for the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative Information and Data Cooperative (GRIIDC) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, overseeing a $1.6 million annual budget and collaborating with various stakeholders. Earlier experience includes roles as a research technician at Dauphin Island Sea Lab and teaching assistant at the University of Alabama. Lauren holds a Master of Science in Marine Sciences from The University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northern Kentucky University.
