Brittany Ajroud

Team Lead, Communications & Knowledge Management at Environmental Incentives

Brittany serves as the Acting Chief of Party for USAID’s Sustainable Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Systems Learning Partnership. She brings over 10 years of experience in international development, with a focus on the social dimensions of natural resource management and collaborative, cross-sector efforts.

Brittany comes to Environmental Incentives from Conservation International (CI), where she was a specialist and instructor in conflict-sensitive approaches to conservation. At CI, Brittany also led the development of monitoring and evaluation systems and data collection methods for integrated projects for health and biodiversity conservation. She contributed to the design of a monitoring and evaluation system to capture the benefits of linking freshwater conservation with water, sanitation, and hygiene activities that is now being applied to USAID-funded projects in South Africa and Uganda.

Brittany’s passion lies in developing effective collaborative processes to balance environmental protection with the diverse needs of communities. She has applied this skill set in a range of contexts—from supporting a watershed conservancy in California to connect with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, to engaging youth and educators in Israel, Jordan, and Palestine to promote cross-border water cooperation.
