Senior Learning Specialist, Biodiversity at Environmental Incentives

Claudia serves as a Senior Learning Specialist for the Latin America and Caribbean region at Environmental Incentives. In this role, she provides technical support to implementing best practices in adaptive management for biodiversity conservation and utilizing evidence and learning to strengthen biodiversity programming. Claudia brings over ten years of experience in international development and applied research focusing on environmental governance, biodiversity conservation, climate change, and sustainable development in Peru and Amazon countries, Nicaragua, and Mexico.

Before EI, Claudia worked for several international and local organizations such as UNESCO, GIZ, Peruvian Society of Environmental Law, and Rainforest Alliance; and has managed projects for donors such as USAID and Global Affairs Canada. She also has extended fieldwork experience in the Amazon Rainforest, focusing her work on Indigenous knowledge of the environment, illegal mining, and conflicts over land and resources.

Claudia is driven by evidence and learning to strengthen biodiversity programming to positively impact rural communities living on the frontlines of climate change and biodiversity loss.
