Maria Witz

Maria Witz is the Program Manager for Environmental Incentives’ Africa Portfolio. In this capacity, she supports the mobilization of EI’s first international office in Kenya, works with a newly established program management unit to establish systems and processes that will maximize EI’s capacity for growth, and provides day-to-day management support to key projects, such as USAID’s Measuring Impact II and Economics of Natural Capital, East Africa.

Maria brings over 15 years of experience working in international development, namely with USAID and USAID’s implementing partners, to the Program Manager role. She has worked in the private, non-profit, and government sectors and recognizes the links and value in partnership among all sectors.

Maria believes in a sincere and data-based approach to environmental conservation that is inclusive of all within a community and that understands the nuanced effects of how people are both impacted and engaged depending on their many diversity factors.
