John M. Doherty

Science Fellow, Climate Judiciary Project at Environmental Law Institute

John M. Doherty, Ph.D., currently serves as a Science and Policy Analyst and Science Fellow at the Environmental Law Institute since August 2022. Prior to this role, John worked as an Editor for Climate Feedback from March 2022 to January 2024 and gained research experience as a Research Assistant at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from October 2021 to July 2022. Earlier in their career, John interned in paleobiology at the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History in the summer of 2016 and in policy at the Sierra Club during the summer of 2014. John holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Earth Sciences from The University of Hong Kong (2017-2021), a Master of Science in Environmental Science from American University (2015-2017), and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Theory from American University (2012-2015).
