Okan Benli

Okan believes in enabling a greener low-carbon world through the application of smarter technologies and renewable energy technologies. He is passionate about embracing new trends in a rapidly-changing energy domain characterised by smart grids, smart meters, distributed generation, electric vehicles, demand-side management and storage technologies.

With experience of working for water, natural gas, oil and power systems customers, Okan has led large programmes based on SCADA and GIS systems, energy automation and R&D in Turkey. He has represented Turkey's Smart Grid Commission – founded by Energy Market Regulatory Authority – and has presented at numerous events, seminars and conferences.

Okan holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering and an MBA, both from the Middle East Technical University. He is a certified project management professional and also holds a certificate in mentoring start-up organisations.
