Clinical Instructor and Lead Surgical Assistant at EON Clinics Dental Implants

Marie Chialdikas has held various roles in the dental and medical field since 1987. Marie began their career as an Office Manager and Assistant at George D.Ditola D.D.S. in 1987. In 1992, they became a Surgical Assistant at Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, DRS Roger Kallal, Robert Schwartz, and Richard Balcerak, where they participated in all office surgical procedures and hospital operating room cases, assisted in over 50 major orthognathic cases, and performed pre-surgical impressions and measurements. In 2013, Marie moved to Elmhurst Dental Group as a Surgical Coordinator-Oral Surgery, where they were responsible for treatment planning and scheduling, handled financial agreements, and performed administrative support functions. In 2014, they joined Midwestern University (IL) as a Surgical Assistant-Oral Surgery, where they were the Implant Coordinator and knowledgeable in Nobel Biocare and Astra Tech implant systems, assisted in teaching 3rd and 4th year Dental Students, and organized the start-up of the Oral Surgery Department. In 2016, Marie became a Surgical Assistant at Michael S. Scherer DDS, MD., where they were the lead surgical assistant, responsible for patient admissions, procedure preparation, and treatment planning, and assisted in over seventy five surgical cases utilizing Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy procedure. Most recently, Marie has been with Eon Clinics since 2021, where they are a Clinical Instructor and Lead Surgical Assistant. Marie is responsible for instructing and evaluating the clinical training of the team, specializes in the All on 4 concept with Nobel Biocare and Neodent implant systems, oversees all activities of patient care, and is the Director of scheduling. Additionally, they demonstrate proficiency with maintaining office aseptic and infection control, and demonstrates cost controls while storing and ordering equipment and supply.

Marie Chialdikas obtained their Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Dental Assisting/Assistant from Triton College in 1988. In 1990, they obtained their Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant (COMSA) certification from the Dental Assisting National Board. In 2018, they obtained their Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE) from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Finally, in 2020, they obtained their Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
