Job Summary 

EOS Aircraft, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical System Engineer Lead / SME to lead our Electrical Systems team. This role is pivotal in shaping and conceptualizing the design, development, integration and certification of the electrical systems for the EOS line of aircraft and reporting directly to the Head of Avionics and Electrical Systems. As the Electrical Systems Lead and SME (Subject Matter Expert), you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful implementation of complex electrical systems. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to deliver an electrical system that is innovative, reliable, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Aircraft Electrical Systems Integration:
    Lead the Electrical System integration process, ensuring seamless incorporation into aircraft design with a focus on performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

  • Team Collaboration: Lead, direct work assignments and coordinate activities between electrical system engineers, airframe designers, avionic, and mechanical systems engineering teams to achieve optimal design solutions.

  • Project Management: Manage electrical integration projects, oversee timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure project milestones are achieved.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all electrical systems meet relevant aerospace standards and regulatory requirements for certification.

  • Supplier Management: Work closely with electrical system suppliers and partners to define requirements, resolve technical challenges, and ensure delivery of high-quality components and systems.

  • Testing and Validation: Oversee the testing and validation of the electrical system to verify performance and safety criteria are met.

  • Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in hybrid aircraft systems integration, leading efforts to incorporate innovative solutions into aircraft designs.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning of electrical systems technologies and integration methodologies to maintain and enhance the company’s competitive edge.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in the aerospace industry within an aircraft or OEM environment, with substantial leadership experience in engineering, particularly through the design, development, and certification lifecycle of EASA/FAA Part 25 aircraft.

  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of contemporary electrical systems technologies, system integration, and aerospace certification processes.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage projects from concept through to certification and production.

  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges through innovative solutions.

  • Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
