Kevin Barker has extensive experience in the energy industry, with a focus on project development and engineering. Kevin has held various roles throughout their career, starting as a Mechanical Technical Apprentice at NEI Parsons, where they were awarded Apprentice of the Year. Kevin then worked their way up the company, gaining experience in mechanical engineering, tendering, and performance testing. Barker later joined Siemens as a Performance Engineer before moving to WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, where they served as a Mechanical Engineer, Senior Thermal Plant Engineer, and Chief Engineer. At InterGen, Barker worked as a Project Development Engineering Manager, overseeing the development phase of various projects, including CCGT and OCGT power plants. Currently, Barker is the Head of Generation Development at EP UK Investments Ltd, focusing on greenfield development and M&A activities related to thermal and renewable generation assets. Overall, Barker has a strong background in project development, engineering, and performance optimization in the energy sector.
Kevin Barker completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) with Honours in Mechanical Engineering at Northumbria University from 1991 to 1996. Kevin later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Durham University Business School from 2006 to 2009.
