Mark Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mark began their career in 1988 as a Human Resources Advisor at the University of Alberta Hospital and worked there until 1996. From 1997 to 1999, they served as a Manager of Human Resources at Good Samaritan Society, where they acted as a chief spokesperson in collective bargaining and provided advice on HR and labor relations matters.
In 1999, Mark joined Extendicare Canada Inc. as Manager of Labor Relations for Western Canada, a role they held until 2001. At Extendicare, they managed labor relations and contributed to collective bargaining processes.
From 2001 to 2009, Mark worked at Alberta Health Services as a Senior Negotiator, managing the provincial collective bargaining process and leading the development of leadership competencies for healthcare leaders.
In 2008, Mark had a concurrent role as a Sessional Instructor at Grant Macewan University, where they taught until 2015.
Since 2009, Mark has been working at EPCOR, initially as a Senior Manager of Labor Relations and later as a director, responsible for HR operations, talent management, and talent management in the electricity services sector. Mark has held multiple director roles during their tenure at EPCOR.
