Shimon Eckhouse

Until July 2017 Shimon was the chairman of Syneron Medical Ltd. (Nasdaq ELOS) which he co-founded in 2001, until it was acquired by APAX partners.

Shimon is the chairman and co-founder of Alon Medtech, Sofwave, Rapid Medical, Theranica, RealView. Shimon was a co-founder, chairman and CEO of ColorChip from 2001 to 2003; Was a co-founder of Ventor Medical Technologies and its Chairman until it was acquired by Medtronic in 2009 for $325M.

Shimon was the founder, chairman and CEO of Lumenis (former ESC) from its inception in 1992 until 1999. He took the company public on Nasdaq in 1996 and raised more than $250M in 3 public offerings, the company reached a valuation of more than $1B returning to its investors more than X120 on their investment in the company.

Shimon is the inventor of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology which he brought to market in 1994 in ESC and is the most popular non-invasive energy based technology for a broad range of non-invasive medical aesthetic applications.

Shimon holds a BSc in physics from the Technion – Israeli Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California at Irvine. He is the author of more than 60 US registered patents and a few hundred international patents and published more than 50 papers in leading refereed journals and conferences.
