Alex Cockram

Dr Cockram recently completed her appointment as a Commissioner to the Royal Commission into the Mental Health System having previously undertaken a number of key roles as a strategic advisor to government and industry on areas including mental health and alcohol and other drug service system reform, the service system interface between the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the health system, and developments for the West of Melbourne. Dr Cockram is also on the Boards of Central Adelaide Local Health Network and Silver Chain Group and was formerly Chief Executive of Western Health.

As a psychiatrist by training, a clinician, and leader in mental health and acute health care, Dr Cockram is committed to providing an inclusive workplace that is highly participatory and advocates for workforce training and development that supports better patient and community outcomes and inspires staff to be their best.
