Hans-Christoph Haenlein

Hans-Christoph Haenlein has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Hans-Christoph is currently the VP Product Design at equal1.labs since July 2021, responsible for the mechanical design of quantum compute demonstrators. Prior to this, they worked as a Cryo-Mech Engineer at equal1.labs from February 2019 to July 2021, where they designed quantum machines and developed Aquarius, the next generation workstation-sized machine.

Hans-Christoph Haenlein also has experience as a Principal at Haenlein Design Strategy & Innovation, where they worked as an independent design engineering and innovation consultant since August 2016. Hans-Christoph has expertise in product development, mechanical design engineering, and connected systems.

Hans-Christoph was the Director at Gibby Technologies from October 2019, and before that, they co-founded GigaSonix Ltd. in June 2018, working as the Mechanical Designer and Director.

Hans-Christoph Haenlein worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Hyphen Eyewear from January 2017 to July 2021, responsible for the engineering design of eyewear systems. Hans-Christoph also served as an Advisor at Osmo Systems from May 2017 to December 2019, providing product engineering expertise for water quality monitoring systems in the aquaculture industry.

Additionally, they worked as an Advisor at Verdical, Inc. from August 2017 to October 2019, providing product development expertise for indoor growing systems.

Hans-Christoph Haenlein has prior experience at Ericsson as a Director of Innovation, leading the Cloud Product Team and the Innova Squad across different periods. Hans-Christoph also worked at IDEO in various roles, including Senior Project Lead, Project Lead, and Mechanical Design Engineer.

Before their work at IDEO, they started their career as a Prototyping Specialist at IDEO from July 1998 to January 2000.

Hans-Christoph Haenlein completed a Foundation Course in Art & Design at Kingston University in 1980. Hans-Christoph then went on to earn a BSc (hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brunel University London between 1980 and 1984.
