Matt Hodges has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Matt started their career in 2006 as a Sales representative at Frequency Communications and later became a Store Manager at Next Byte. In 2008, they joined Atlassian as a Technical Sales Engineer and progressed through roles like Product Marketing Specialist and Product Marketing Manager.
In 2014, they transitioned to Intercom, where they held positions including Director of Product Marketing, Senior Director of Marketing, and VP of Commercial Product Strategy. At Intercom, they played a crucial role in product strategy and marketing.
After leaving Intercom, Matt became the VP of Marketing at Loom in 2019. During their tenure, they acted as the Head of Product and led various initiatives, such as developing a new category in video messaging, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, and implementing pricing strategies that resulted in significant revenue growth. Matt also built a marketing team and redesigned the website.
In 2021, Matt established their own consulting firm, 021 Consulting, focused on advising early-stage B2B SaaS businesses on company, product, and GTM strategies. Matt worked with companies like Qwilr, Command E, Vowel, and Atlassian.
In 2022, Matt joined Atlassian again, this time as the Head of Product Marketing Craft. Matt later became the Head of Marketing for Confluence before transitioning to their current role as the Head of Product Marketing at Equals in 2023.
Matt Hodges attended Hills Grammar from 1997 to 2002, but they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study at that time. From 2003 to 2007, they attended the University of New South Wales (UNSW) where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree with a specialization in Information Systems and Management & Marketing.
