Maple Fung

Maple Fung has extensive work experience in various medical and pharmaceutical companies. They started their career as a Hospitalist at Columbia University Medical Center in 2003 and later worked as an Internist at New York Downtown Hospital. From 2008 to 2010, Maple worked as a Nephrologist at VA San Diego Healthcare System/ UC San Diego. They then joined Amgen as a Clinical Research Sr Medical Scientist and later became a Clinical Research Medical Director in the Nephrology Therapeutic Area. Maple's next roles were as an Executive Medical Director at Ardea Biosciences and later as an Executive Director at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. In 2018, they worked as a Senior Medical Director at Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and most recently, they have been serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Equillium, Inc.

Maple Fung completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Chemistry at Pomona College from 1992 to 1996. Following this, from 1996 to 2000, they attended the UC San Diego School of Medicine, earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Additionally, Maple Fung is Board Certified in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
