Chief Geologist at Equinox Gold

Stephen Sabo started their work experience in 2008 as a Logger Trainee at Epoch Well Services, where they received training in logging and sample preparation. In 2009, they worked as a Junior Field Engineer at Schlumberger, learning open hole wireline operations and ensuring timely data acquisition and delivery to clients. In 2010, they joined Canrig Drilling Technology Ltd. as a Logger Trainee, responsible for sample preparation and logging wells in cold weather conditions. Later in 2010, they joined New Gold Inc. as a Mine Geologist, where they were involved in ore control, pit mapping, sampling, and modeling. Stephen held various roles at New Gold Inc., including Senior Open Pit Geologist and Mine Geologist, until 2018. From 2018 to 2019, they worked at Golden Vertex as a Senior Geologist and later as a Chief Geologist. Currently, they are employed at Equinox Gold Corp. as a Chief Geologist.

Stephen Sabo earned a BA in Geology from The University of Akron in 2006. Stephen then pursued a Masters of Science in Geology from Bowling Green State University, which they completed in 2008.
