David Winkel

David Winkel has a diverse work experience in the legal and compliance field. David started their career as a Legal Clerk at Baker & McKenzie in August 2009 and worked there until March 2013. In 2015, they joined Erste Group as a Junior Markets Compliance Officer and eventually progressed to the role of Senior Markets Compliance Officer in October 2017. David then served as the Head of Group Securities Compliance from December 2020 to December 2023 before assuming their current position as the Head of Group Markets Compliance at Erste Group.

David Winkel holds a Master's Degree in Intellectual Property Law and United States Law from the Santa Clara University School of Law, which they obtained in 2015. Prior to that, they completed another Master's Degree in International and European Law at the University of Vienna from 2013 to 2014. David began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in International Business, Trade, and Tax Law from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) in 2011.
