Dan Murphy

Dan Murphy has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Their most recent role is as the VP of Engineering at ESW, where they lead a team of 250 engineers in building capabilities to support the growth of the company's global cross-border e-commerce platform. Prior to this, they served as the CTO R&D Engineering at Wynshop, where they led the development of their event-driven microservices architecture for eGrocery commerce.

Before that, they held various leadership positions at MyWebGrocer, including CTO and Senior Vice President roles, where they led the development of a highly scalable SOA-based eCommerce platform and successfully implemented it across multiple verticals. Prior to MyWebGrocer, they were the Chief Technology Officer and Founder at Buy4Now, where they led the technology implementation and successfully sold their grocery software solution to enterprise customers in the US market.

Earlier in their career, Dan worked at Enterprise Ireland as an Application Development Manager, where they built an integrated global information system. Dan also served as a Database Consultant at KPMG UK, working on the design and development of a solution to support the privatization of the vocational training and education function in the British Civil Service.

Dan's early experiences include working as a Consultant at Kuwait Investment Authority and Apple Computer, where they were involved in the design and development of data warehouse and performance optimization solutions respectively. Dan began their career as a Software Developer at Blackbird Technologies, where they designed and developed a production automation solution for Waterford Crystal.

Dan Murphy received their Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Limerick in 1986. Dan went on to obtain a Master of Engineering degree in Software Engineering from the same university between 1986 and 1988. In 1991, they pursued a Certificate in Financial Analysis from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, completing it in 1992.
