Juha Ylitalo

Juha Ylitalo has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Juha most recently worked as the Head of Renewable energy & Project transports at ESL Shipping Ltd. Prior to that, Juha held roles such as Head of Sales and Engineering of project shipments and Project Director at Rauma Cata Oy, Operations Manager and Marine Warranty Surveyor at Lilaco Offshore Oy, and Project Director and Chairman of the board at Extramare Oy. Juha also has experience in project operations management, superintendent marine, captain, newbuilding project management, and newbuilding supervision at Meriaura Ltd. Additionally, Juha has worked as a captain and DPA at Suomen Saaristolaivat Oy, and as a chief officer at Superfast Ferries.

Juha Ylitalo attended Satakunta Polytechnic from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained a degree in Maritime Studies. In addition to their formal education, Juha has obtained a variety of certifications. In March 2003, they received the certification of Master Mariner - Limitations none from Liikenteen turvallisuusvirasto Trafi / Trafiksäkerhetsverket / Finnish Transport Safety Agency. Later, in February 2019, they became a certified Heavy Lift Specialist in Heavy transport, Lifting, Shipping, and Offshore. In November 2019, Juha completed the certification for Lifting works designer and supervisor, ISO 23813/2007 from Nousiko Oy. Most recently, in March 2020, they obtained the HAZMAT expert accreditation according to EU Ship Recycling Reg. from RINA.
