Stan Benjamens

Stan Benjamens is currently serving as the EJD Representative for the UEMS Section of Surgery at the European Union of Medical Specialists since October 2023. With a strong background in surgical training, Stan is a Surgical Resident in training at Ikazia and has been a Board Member for the Young Professionals in Transplantation (YPT) at the European Society for Organ Transplantation since June 2021. Prior experience includes roles as an ANIOS Chirurgie at Maasstad Ziekenhuis and Special Issue Editor for Transplantology at MDPI, focusing on topics like artificial intelligence and telemedicine in transplantation. Stan completed an MD-PhD at the University of Groningen, with research on medical imaging related to kidney transplantation, and gained experience through various medical internships and roles in surgical and nephrology departments. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MSc in Medicine from the University of Groningen.
