Guillem Sole

Guillem Sole has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Guillem started their career as an intern at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2003. Guillem then joined Intel Corporation in 2004, where they worked as a Software Developer and later as a Graphics Architect and Computer Architect for various iterations of Xeon Phi processors. At Intel, they were responsible for developing tools, improving databases, and working on architectural units such as texture samplers and interconnects.

In 2014, Guillem joined Broadcom Limited as a Senior Principal Design Engineer, focusing on the development of ARMv7/ARMv8 cores for the set-top box market. Guillem started as a designer for the execution unit and was later promoted to core lead designer. Guillem played a key role in writing RTL, debugging, and creating performance tests for the architecture and microarchitecture of the core.

Guillem's most recent role is Director of Software - AI at Esperanto Technologies, Inc, which they joined in 2017. Guillem initially worked as a Hardware Engineer, designing instruction and hardware extensions to execute AI workloads efficiently. Later, they became a Software Engineer Manager, leading the Machine Learning team in developing a custom compiler for mapping DNNs to machine code. Currently, as the Director of Software - AI, they lead a team of over 25 software engineers, driving and defining the ML software stack, ensuring integration, performance, and functionality.

Throughout their career, Guillem Sole has demonstrated expertise in software and hardware engineering, computer architecture, and team leadership.

Guillem Sole pursued their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, completing their studies from 1999 to 2005. Prior to this, they attended Sadako from 1986 to 1994, although no specific degree or field of study information is available for this period.
