Javier Lopez-Cabrera, PhD, currently serves as a GIS Contractor at Esri Ireland since November 2021, providing GIS services to a water utility client as part of the PMO GIS Team and Asset Intelligence, with responsibilities including the use of Esri's Utility Network and ArcGIS platform. Previously, Javier conducted geoscience research as a PhD Researcher at University College Dublin from January 2017 to May 2021, focusing on 3D modeling and data analysis of deep-water lobes, alongside developing algorithms in C# for integration into industry-standard software. Additional experience includes working as a Subsurface Geologist at EnQuest, where seismic interpretation of the Magnus Field was conducted, and serving as a Research Assistant at University of Granada analyzing submarine landslides. Javier also has a background in clastic sedimentology from a position at Repsol, performing petrophysical analysis of datasets from the Barents Sea. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Geological and Earth Sciences from University College Dublin, a Professional Master's Degree in GIS - Geoinformatics from Universitat de Girona, and multiple degrees in geology from Universidad de Granada.
