Manoj Sharma is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in procurement and contract management within the power generation sector. Currently serving as DGM of Procurement & Contracts at Essar Power since September 2022, Manoj previously held the position of Lead-Techno Commercial at Adani Power from February 2008 to August 2022, where expertise in purchase management, material planning, and techno-commercial negotiations was demonstrated, along with a successful record in implementing cost-saving measures. Earlier, Manoj was a Procurement Executive at Essar Power from November 2005 to January 2008, also contributing to cost reduction efforts. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Power Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, a Post Graduate Diploma in Material Management from the Indian Institute of Materials Management, a Post Diploma in Thermal Power from the National Power Training Institute, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Production) from Uttar Pradesh Technical University.

It has a power generating capacity of 2070 MW across four plants in India and Canada. Essar is also foraying into renewable energy starting with a plan to set up a 90 MWp PV Solar power plant in Dhatia, Madhya Pradesh.
