Sujoy Mukherjee

Sujoy Mukherjee has a wealth of experience in the oil and gas exploration industry. Sujoy most recently served as the Chief Exploration Officer at Essar Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Ltd. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Subsurface Professional at an undisclosed company.

Sujoy's longest tenure was with Cairn Oil and Gas, where they held various positions over the years. Sujoy served as the Head of Subsurface, President of Tight Oil, and Head of Subsurface, among other roles. In these positions, Sujoy was responsible for delivering subsurface work plans, conducting geological work, building geo-cellular models, and overseeing field development planning and implementation.

Before joining Cairn Oil and Gas, Sujoy worked as a Principal Geologist and Lead Geologist, focusing on the development of major appraised fields in Barmer Basin, Rajasthan, India. Sujoy also played a key role in the first oil and ramp-up of the Mangala field, the largest onshore field in Cairn's portfolio.

Prior to their time at Cairn, Sujoy worked as an Exploration Geologist at Cairn Energy PLC, where they conducted seismic interpretation, prospect mapping, and lead identification for exploratory drilling.

Sujoy's early career involved serving as a Geologist at Cairn India Ltd, where they supervised development drilling, conducted interpretation and correlation of data, and performed reservoir modeling.

Overall, Sujoy Mukherjee has a comprehensive background in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on subsurface exploration, field development planning, and geological work.

From 1998 to 2001, Sujoy Mukherjee pursued an MSc Tech degree in Applied Geology at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad.
