Barkue Tubman - Zawolo

Barkue Tubman - Zawolo serves as the Chief Community Officer and Chief of Staff at Essence Communications Inc., focusing on deeply serving Black women. As the Founder and Chairwoman of BeAfricaLuxury, an African luxury lifestyle brand, Barkue promotes a positive image of Africa while contributing to poverty reduction efforts. Additional roles include Advisor at Blacktag, Founder and Chief Experience Officer at MBL Intl Group, and Advisory Board Member for The ONE Campaign's Girls and Women initiative. Barkue also founded the MBL Boss Lady Effect, aimed at accelerating socio-economic development for women and girls in Liberia. Previous positions include board member at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development and Chairman of the Liberia Tourism Exploratory Committee. Barkue holds a BA in Foreign Language, Business Management, and Economics from Elon University.
