Sunnie Kaufmann-Paulman is the current Chief Community Engagement Officer at Animal Humane Society. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of Greater Boston PFLAG from February 2020 to May 2022, and the Executive Director of Brooklyn Boulders Foundation from April 2019 to February 2020.

Sunnie has a passion for community engagement and believes that everyone deserves to have their voice heard. Sunnie has been instrumental in implementing strategic plans, annual goals, objectives, and priorities for both organizations they have worked for. Under their leadership, the Brooklyn Boulders Foundation raised $105,000 in donations in just six months. Sunnie also launched an exciting new website with an integrated donor platform for Greater Boston PFLAG.

Most recently, Sunnie launched the foundation’s inaugural Giving Tuesday Campaign in partnership with all Brooklyn Boulders facilities. This successful campaign garnered support from the rock climbing community and helped raise awareness for the foundation’s cause. Sunnie has also implemented financial protocols and procedures to ensure the fiscal health of both organizations they have worked for.

Sunnie Kaufmann-Paulman is a dedicated community leader with a proven track record of success. Her passion for engaging with others and their dedication to their work has helped make both organizations they have worked for thrive.

Sunnie Kaufmann-Paulman's educational career began with a focus on American Sign Language Studies at Saint Paul College. Sunnie then pursued a certificate in Scaling for Impact at Harvard Graduate School of Education. After that, they completed a degree in Business Administration at Capella University. Finally, they earned a degree in Environmental Education from the University of Minnesota-Morris.

They are on a team with Lisa Bonds - Chief Advancement Officer, Jacey Cassem - Director of Human Resources, and Graham Brayshaw - Director of Veterinary Medicine. Sunnie Kaufmann-Paulman reports to Janelle Dixon, President & CEO.
