Andrew Askew

Andrew Askew is the VP of Public Policy at Essentia Health. Andrew has a diverse background in law, having worked as an associate attorney, judicial law clerk, outside articles editor, and legislative intern. Andrew has also established and led a government relations practice. In their current role at Essentia Health, they are responsible for formulating and executing advocacy strategies, building relationships with policy makers and stakeholders, representing clients before the state’s administrative, legislative, and regulatory bodies, and monitoring legislative interests during North Dakota Legislative Assembly and Interim.

Andrew Askew attended St. Cloud State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. Andrew then attended the University of North Dakota and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. After that, they attended the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Finally, they attended The University of North Dakota School of Law and received a Juris Doctor (J.D.). Andrew is certified by the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota to practice law.

Their manager is David Herman, CEO. They work with Debbie Welle-Powell - Chief Population Health Officer, Kevin Casey - Chief Medical Officer, and Michael Watters - Chief Legal Officer.
