Mitch Hume

Mitch Hume is an experienced professional in stakeholder relations and communications, currently serving as Head of Stakeholder Relations at Essential Energy since January 2024. Prior to this role, Mitch held various positions at the Australian Energy Market Operator, including Manager of Project Community & Stakeholder Engagement, and Stakeholder Engagement Lead. Mitch's extensive background at TransGrid involved roles such as Stakeholder and Communications Manager and Community Engagement Lead for Project EnergyConnect. Earlier experience includes positions at Angloville, DEC Communications, Citadel Communications, Cannings Strategic Communications, and internships at the National Cool Climate Wine Show and Australian Rugby Union. Mitch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Organisational Communication from Charles Sturt University and a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Energy from The University of Queensland, expected to be completed in December 2023.
