Melisa Laycock-van Spyk

Melisa Laycock-van Spyk is an experienced Flood Investigation Engineer, currently serving at Essex County Council since August 2024. Prior to this role, Melisa worked as a Flood Risk Engineer at Epping Forest District Council from June 2018 to August 2024, and as a Development and Flood Risk Officer at Essex County Council from April 2017 to June 2018. Melisa's career includes an earlier position as an Accreditation Analyst at Rail Delivery Group from April 2014 to April 2017, and as a Flood and Coastal Risk Management Officer at the Environment Agency from April 2013 to April 2014. Melisa holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geography (Physical Geography) from the University of Northampton, completed in 2012, and has a comprehensive educational background from Mayflower High School.
