Michael Derrick Steinmetz

Michael Derrick Steinmetz has extensive experience in financial management and administration in the education sector. Michael Derrick currently holds the position of School Business Administrator (CFO) at Essex Regional Educational Services Commission. Prior to this, they served as the School Business Administrator (CFO) at Bound Brook School District, where they managed a large operating budget and achieved successful fiscal audits. Michael Derrick also served as the Business Administrator (CFO) at Ridgefield Park Board of Education, overseeing financial operations and leading the district out of a deficit. Michael has held similar positions at South Bound Brook SD, Ridge and Valley Charter School, and Learning Community Charter School, successfully managing budgets and achieving excellent annual fiscal audits. Michael Derrick then pursued two Master's degrees, one in Public Administration from 1999 to 2002, and another in Education Administration and School Business Administration from 2004 to 2006. In addition to their academic achievements, Michael has acquired several certifications, including the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) in June 2015, the RSBA-Registered School Business Administrator from NJASBO in June 2013, the Qualified Purchasing Agent from the State of New Jersey Department of Treasury in March 2013, and the New Jersey Certified School Business Administrator, Standard Certificate from the State of New Jersey in July 2008.
