Essex Terminal Railway / Morterm Limited / Motipark Limited

Essex Terminal Railway is a short-line or switching railway, strategically located at the Windsor-Detroit gateway and busiest North American border crossing handling 1/3 of all US-Canada trade by volume. Incorporated in 1902, the ETR connects both local and internationally destined freight to CN, CP and CSX providing access to any point in the rail networks in Canada, the USA and Mexico. We also provide service for local companies from the east side of Windsor to Amherstburg, ON. ETR services customers in the industrial, chemical, agribusiness, salt, automotive engines, lumber, scrap and food products sectors. Our sister company, Morterm Ltd., owns and operates the only general cargo terminal in the Port of Windsor, with a rail siding to the terminal. The mainline of the ETR runs in a generally southwest direction for some 35 km (22 miles), in a route that roughly parallels the Detroit River separating Windsor from Detroit, MI, USA.
