Senior Research Development Innovation Engineer at Establishment Labs

Juan José Delgado Quesada has extensive work experience in the field of research, development, and innovation engineering. Juan José has been employed at Establishment Labs since 2018. In their most recent role as a Senior Research, Development & Innovation Engineer, they are responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams in introducing and delivering medical devices within target timelines. Juan José also guides suppliers and contract manufacturers in product design and development. Juan José'sprevious roles at Establishment Labs involved leading teams in the design and development process of medical devices, including conceptualization, project management, risk management, and design change. Juan José also presented project status and results to staff managers and top management.

Prior to their employment at Establishment Labs, Juan José worked at Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR). At UCR, they served as a Team Leader at the Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems Laboratory (PRIS-Lab), where they were involved in various projects related to human motion analysis, creation of movement databases, and the implementation of Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs). Juan José also worked as an Assistant Student at the Laboratory of Metrology, Normalization, and Quality (LABCAL), and as an Assistant Student at the Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System Laboratory (PRIS-Lab), where they contributed to the maintenance and development of motion capture system tools and co-authored a project on the differential diagnosis of scoliosis.

Juan José Delgado Quesada earned their Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, and Communications Engineering from Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) between 2014 and 2018. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in the same field at UCR from 2019 to 2022. Juan José also obtained additional certifications, including a Design Control Training for Medical Devices: Requirements and Best Practices from Oriel STAT A MATRIX in May 2022, and a Project Management Accelerated Program Certificate from GE 360 in April 2022.
