Javier Barja

Javier Barja has a strong background in finance and administration, with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry. Javier is currently working as the Global Finance Director at ESTEVE since 2020. Prior to this, they held the role of Global Administration Director at ESTEVE from 2021 to 2023. Before joining ESTEVE, Javier worked at Medichem, S.A. for over 12 years, starting as the Sanitaryware Cost Analyst and eventually becoming the Chief Financial & IT Officer. During their time at Medichem, Javier was responsible for managing all finance and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with corporate compliance requirements, and preparing financial reports for various stakeholders. Javier also led a team and implemented a more efficient structure after the merger of three different companies. Prior to Medichem, Javier worked at Roca Sanitario, S.A. as the Cost Corporate Manager and Due Diligence Financial Analyst, where they focused on production cost control and analysis, ERP implementation, and financial reporting. Javier has a comprehensive understanding of corporate finance and has experience in multinational environments.

Javier Barja obtained a Lic&MBA degree in Economics from Esade, where they studied from 1998 to 2003. In 2002, they also attended McGill University, where they pursued an MBA in Economics for one year.
