ETH Zürich
Yu Liu is a postdoctoral researcher at ETHZ since April 2012, focusing on modeling fossil fuel CO2 emissions based on carbon monoxide data. Yu Liu completed a Ph.D. in Environmental Physics at ETH Zürich, where significant contributions included evaluating the MeterSwiss COSMO atmospheric transport model and developing a data assimilation system for optimizing CO2 emission predictions using the Ensemble Kalman Filter. Previous roles include teaching assistance in physics experiments at ETH, web maintenance at ETH Zürich, and engineering assistance at Intergraph in Beijing. Yu Liu also served as a project assistant at Beijing Normal University, working on integrating snow thermal models into distributed hydrology models, and conducted research in microwave remote sensing related to snow inversion. Educational qualifications encompass a Master's Degree in Cartology and Geographic Information Systems from Beijing Normal University and two Bachelor's Degrees in Biology and Geography from Central China Normal University.
