Phd Student In Bioinformatics at Hospital del Mar Research Institute

Lilian Marie B. is currently a PhD Student in Bioinformatics at IMIM - Institut Hospital del Mar d'Investigacions Mèdiques since September 2021. Prior experience includes a Graduate Student Intern role at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) from September 2019 to July 2020, focusing on the impact of prematernal exposure to green spaces on cortisol levels in umbilical cord blood and conducting literature reviews on early-life exposure to the built environment and its effects on children's brain development. In June 2019, Lilian participated and won the eHealth, Air Quality, and NCDs Entrepreneurship Challenge, where an interdisciplinary team developed a project aimed at reducing asthma exacerbation rates. Lilian's academic background includes a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, a Master of Science in Public Health with a specialization in Global Health from Syddansk Universitet, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Philipps-Universität Marburg, where the bachelor thesis focused on the detyrosination of microtubules and its influence on cell migration.
