Namal Gunasekera

Namal Gunasekera has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Their current position is as the Head of Cyber Security Operations at ETHAN. Prior to this, they worked at Royal Technology Solutions as the Operations Manager - Cyber Defense, where they were responsible for managing a nationwide cybersecurity mission to protect government and critical infrastructure organizations. They also mentored and supervised large teams in program management and cyber operations.

Before joining Royal Technology Solutions, Gunasekera worked at BEACON RED as the CSOC Manager. As the CSOC Lead - Cyber Network Defense at DarkMatter LLC, Gunasekera played a crucial role in developing cutting-edge solutions and services to ensure electronic security for clients. They have also held various roles at Dimension Data, including National Manager - Security Tower, Team Leader - Security Operations, and Security Analyst.

Gunasekera began their career as a Software Engineer at Golden Key Software Solutions and later worked as an Assistant Manager - Technical Support at Ceylinco Networking Technologies. They also gained experience as a Technical Support Engineer / Security Response Liaison at Symantec, where they provided support to customers and assisted in resolving issues with Symantec products.

Namal Gunasekera completed their Master's Degree in Computer Systems Security, Networking and Telecommunications from the University of Technology Sydney from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and Services from University College Dublin between 2000 and 2003.
