These opportunities have created a new role in the Ethical Power design engineering team. 

Role Summary 

This is a key role for the UK engineering design hub, based in Bristol in the UK.

Design Managers Coordinate design disciplines plus Constraints (Planning, land, Enviro). They conduct Design Reviews and ensure interfaces are correct. They also manage and review subcontracting of design.

Main Responsibilities  

  • Design Manager for Solar and BESS, projects in the UK.
  • Co-ordintate design and Engineering disciplines, project constraints (Planning, Land, Environmental), Mechanical design, Electrical design, Civil design, SCADA and communication
  • You will work with project Managers, co-ordindting and providing Engineering and design support from concept through to delivery
  • Management of subcontract design
  • Design reviews and sign off.
  • Participating in monthly management meetings
  • Support training and mentoring of engineering design team members in the UK
  • Work very closely to Head of Engineering, for strategic decisions in projects
  • Work with the UK other design teams to support the wider business as required.

Person Specification 

  • This role would suite someone with a wide engineering background with extensive management experience in the renewable engineering sector
  • Extensive BESS & solar PV project delivery experience (large scale multi MWs)
  • Professional Engineering academic background – Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy / Power Systems Engineering (or similar)
  • Knowledge of relevant software tools, AutoCAD, PV Syst, PV Case would be helpful
  • Conversant with all relevant design and building standards and protocols
  • High calibre operator - degree educated or similar by experience
  • Leadership experience, inspiring style
  • Comfortable in fast paced, high growth environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Located in The UK. You would required to attend our Bristol office 3 days per week. Minimum.
