Bernd Zomerdijk

Bernd Zomerdijk has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Bernd started their career as a food and beverage attendant at Hilton Brisbane and later worked at Hamilton Island as a Beach Club Lounge attendant. Bernd then joined the Jinling Hotel and Resort Management Company for a research project. Bernd proceeded to work as an academic tutor at Queensland Institute of Business and Technology and Griffith University while pursuing their PhD. Bernd also served as an academic tutor and research assistant at Griffith University. After completing their studies, Bernd worked as a Business Development Manager and Team Leader at Love Energy (Aust) Pty Ltd. Bernd then transitioned to SoftEd as an Account Manager, focusing on key clients in the banking and finance sector. Bernd's most recent role was at Ethoca, where they started as a Channel Sales Manager for the APAC region and eventually became the Director of Channel Relations - APAC.

Bernd Zomerdijk has a diverse education history. Bernd began their education at Baudartius College, where they completed their Higher Advanced Further Education (High School) degree specializing in Economics and Society from 1998 to 2003. Bernd furthered their education by obtaining a Diploma of Hotel Management from the Queensland Institute of Business and Technology from 2004 to 2005. Bernd then attended Griffith University, where they earned a Bachelor of Business degree with a major in Hotel Management and a minor in Management from 2006 to 2008. During this time, they also participated in a student exchange program at École Supérieure de Commerce et de Management - ESCEM in 2007, focusing on Management and Finance. Additionally, they completed an exchange program at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2007, specializing in the School of Hotel Management. Later, Bernd pursued a Bachelor of Hotel Management with First Class Honours degree in Hotel Management Branding and Asian Culture Studies from Griffith University between 2008 and 2009. As for additional certifications, Bernd obtained the ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP) certification in 2014 and the ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Portfolio Management (ICP-PFM) certification in 2016 from ICAgile. Bernd also acquired a certification in Business Systems Analysis from IIBA in 2014.
