Ben Speggen

Ben Speggen serves as the Vice President at the Jefferson Educational Society, where responsibilities include guiding programmatic and public policy efforts in Erie County, Pennsylvania. In addition to this role, Ben has held various positions at the society, including Director of Operations and Program Director, focusing on programming that promotes civic enlightenment and community progress. Currently, Ben also works as the Editorial Director for the Our Towns Civic Foundation, capturing community renewal stories, and serves as a Contributing Editor and former Managing Editor for the Erie Reader. Previous experience includes senior editing at Ethos Copywriting and hosting and producing a community affairs radio program at WQLN Public Media. Ben has also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Lecturer at Gannon University and Mercyhurst University, holding both a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Gannon University.
