Sean Henderson

Sean Henderson is currently the Controller at Ethos Life. Prior to this, they worked as Project Finance Manager at AECOM from January 2018 to December 2020. Sean is a highly skilled and experienced finance professional, with a proven track record in both public and private companies.

At AECOM, Sean led a team of 10 finance analysts through a rapidly changing environment at a high-growth publicly traded Fortune 500 company. Sean was responsible for the monthly financial close process and prepared consolidated financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SOX for the entire West Region with $600 million annual gross revenue under tight deadlines. Sean also partnered with multiple business lines to drive performance management and financial performance.

During their time at AECOM, Sean achieved several notable accomplishments. Sean was nominated to the Elevate Leadership Development Program (top 5% talent), generated a 150% improvement of earnings for the Building and Places business from 2019-2020, and received multiple Making a Difference Awards for supporting litigation efforts, financial process improvements, and managing a portfolio of projects, all in addition to their day-to-day responsibilities. Sean also managed working capital to meet DSO and cash flow objectives, which reduced DSO by 20 days. In addition, they reviewed the month end financial close procedure for processing revenue adjustments and journal entries, reducing processing time by 80% while also reducing the potential for inaccuracy and error.

Sean Henderson graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from the University of Ottawa, with a specialization in accounting. Sean then went on to obtain their certification from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators as a Chartered Accountant. Finally, they obtained their certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) as a Chartered Professional Accountant.
